This is a roasted version of our "Gaofeng Jade Oolong" from this winter. And we cannot help but point out that the roasting master was really good at the technique of proper roasting. Nothing is too strong or too light, just a perfect balance of how it was before and how it transformed into after the roast. Roasted tea provides a special nuance and is especially enjoyable in the freezing winter months.

The masterful roasting has transformed this tea giving it an almost Dong Ding-like character. The tea has softened after the roast of this winter, giving the tea a comfortable soothing texture to your tongue and throat. If you are looking for a tea to warm you up in the year of 2017 no matter where you are on the planet earth, this Gaofeng Light Roast will certainly be a wonderful companion for you.

Perfect balance between roasted and green.  The light roasting has brought out fruit and grass notes.  Potent cha qi and very infusable.  I love the tranquil effect on my mind and body with this one.  Sometimes a light roasted high mountain oolong is just what you need to balance and recharge!

This tea started out with a lovely light roasted flavor that is well balanced. After four steeps or so it showed more jade-like oolong qualities. I found that less was more for me in brewing this tea. 5 grams in my 170ml gaiwan seemed served me well. This Gao Feng light roast oolong is an affordable and complex experience.

An old dog was again surprised by how meticulously roasted after drinking it by our master. This is the second year that we are carrying this tea to the globe, and Gao Feng is a truly special tea due to its character. Despite most of the winter tea this year being "weak" (Not Taiwan Sourcing's of course) due to the climate, this tea is still able to maintain a robustness probably thanks to its specially located tea plantation. The roasting to an old dog's surprise did not accentuate its flavor, but wonderfully turned it into a soft and soothing tea to enjoy. As a result, an old dog will stop barking here and go back to enjoy this lovely tea again. And do not forget to get our "Gaofeng Spring Light Roast" as well if you haven't tried it yet!
