The legendary tea of 2015 is finally again part of our 2017 Winter offering, and we are very surprised to find that the processing has became very different from the previous version.

Most of the High Mountain Oolongs grown at Lishan (Dayuling and Fushoushan) are Qin Xin Oolong varietal, but this tea was made from Hong Xin Wai Wei Tao, the varietal that is mostly utilized to process as traditional Tie Guan Yin (鐵觀音). Moreover, Tie Guan Yin varietal grown at such high altitudes is very rare since harvest quantity is very low (compared to Qing Xin varietal). The result is remarkable, in that it offers an absolutely unique and eye-opening experience for Jade Oolong tea lovers.  It has a mellow yet complex layered body that separates it from a Qing Xin Li Shan Jade Oolong.

This Roasted version is incredibly rich and full-bodied due to the gentle multi-stage roasting the tea has undergone.  We have given it the name "Guardian King" as this tea is like a strong guardian forged from the Goddess Drop by an elegant roasting technique. (The Jade version from this winter is available here.)

With the best environment and the most interesting varietal possible, this is one of the most exclusive teas in the market offered by Taiwan Sourcing.  We are very very grateful to have this tea with us in this winter of 2017, and we again sincerely invite anyone who would like to explore a new world of tea to join us!

Incredibly infusable tea!  Went 12 steeps and my bladder gave up before the tea did!  Nuts and fruit come with the thick sweetness this tea delivers.  Very happy to be drinking ultra high mountain Tie Guan Yin varietal with this kind of light roast character.  Fantastic!  Watch my video review of this tea here -->> https://youtu.be/4CuikT-KzXI

Really unique all around. Aromatics are strong and filled my tea room. I think the roasting is fresh so its taste is in the foreground. This tea has a great lasting unique roasted nuttiness that shifts into a sweet light tangy taste. It held up its flavor with long steeps as well. Definitely one to try if you love roasted Tie Guan Yin teas.
