Songboling Organic Taiwan Sourcing "Emerald Isle" Green Tea

Despite not being the most famous tea type from Taiwan, we think green tea still plays an important role in our "Taiwan tea map". Teas like this one prove that Taiwan can produce excellent green tea like its Mainland cousin. Under such motivation, we finally produce a green tea that is very distinctly "Taiwanese", like the already famous Sanxia Organic Bi Luo Chun Green Tea.

The varietal we decided to use is "Four Seasons Spring" (四季春), but not just any "Four Seasons Spring," we specifically selected the same refined material that we used to create our signature teas (Songboling Organic Taiwan Sourcing "Solar Isle" Yellow Tea and Songboling Organic Taiwan Sourcing "Ruby Isle" White Tea) to ensure a unique and satisfying result. Moreover, we applied some processing techniques that are only used in Taiwan to make to make this green tea less harsh on the stomach. This extra process requires additional labor and time, but we think it is extra processing adds a new dimension to this special tea!

This is a green tea that should bring you to the new boundary of tea like our "Isle" series, and that is why we named it "Emerald Isle".

  I generally feel curious tasting Taiwanese green teas. I know there is rich history for making them there, yet they are certainly not well known now for them. There is a sweetness that comes through that might be from the more mature leaves used to make the tea. There is smoothness there, and then lovely floral oolong-like aroma. The vegetal greenness is more sweet than umami. Really worth trying if you like green teas. It's quite a few degrees less potent than a Japanese sencha.

 This is one of the cleanest and most lively green teas an old dog has ever had in its dog life. An old dog was not much of a green tea dog since there were really not much option in the market, and most of the green tea is not too comfortable to an old dog's fragile stomach (which most of the dog has).This green tea is different. This tea is very lovely and filled with living surprise like squirrel playing on a healthy tree. If anything, this tea has a very "healthy" character to an old dog, and is probably the smoothest green tea an old dog ever had.
