It has been nearly two years ago since we offered tea from Cuiluan, which was one of the first oolongs we offered!  Now we are proud to announce that Cuiluan is back, but with a whole new character and flavour to explore for the upcoming winter!

This Cuiluan Roasted Oolong was found during a special visit to a roasting master. We  were looking for other teas at the time, hoping to find our very popular "Yangzaiwang Roasted Oolong" again. We failed to find the tea we were looking for, but luckily we found this beautiful tea for our summer collection instead! This is one of those very heavily bug bitten oolong you would find in the oolong tea world, and we are totally enchanted  by its mesmerizing and strong character thanks to its "bug-bitteness" and perfect roast!

This Cuiluan Jade Oolong delivers a powerful aroma that won't fade even if stored for a few years!  Incredibly thick body, pungent floral cream aroma and powerful qi!

I won't force you try it, but this tea will definitely not disappoint those who like fruity and sweet teas like Oriental Beauty.  Thick and viscous in the mouth, it goes many many rounds!

I brewed 5 grams in a 160ml gaiwan with fresh spring water and water near boiling. I also did another brewing with water at around 190F and found that to very much accentuate the beautiful roasting job done on this tea. For me that was the key to this tea. The roasting was quite lovely as an added layer to this rather rich and sweet 'garden of fruit' tea. It steeps many rounds, and what I noticed towards the 3rd or so steep was the building momentum of the potency. This is from a relatively high elevation garden and carries layers in its character well. The sweetness is serious business, and I think most people would really enjoy drinking this tea quite a bit.

As an old dog who loves to wander in a beautiful fruit garden, this summer tea is so special that an old dog must force everyone to try! The bug bitten aroma is so strong that an old dog's sensitive nose could not resist but only to surrender. The world this tea is trying to deliver is like a wonderful tangerine garden tour in the dream, and of course, a dream in an old dog's way!
