Gaofeng Organic "Nectar Dawn" Oolong Tea - Winter 2019Taiwan Sourcing
This particular Gaofeng plantation has been our partner for exact 2 years, and this will be the final season of this precious collaboration. We not only gained an incredible experience to explore the possibility of Qing Xin Oolong varietal, we also got a chance to process high elevation material for the first time since the spring of 2018.
You can call this tea the winter version of "Citrus Drop," and we once again have the full support from the factory. As we mentioned in "Citrus Noon," we took quite an unusual way to process this material, which makes our processing schedule quite different from the one that the factory runs on, so we are especially grateful for the factory's friendly cooperation.
The killing green stage began at 0700 AM, a perfect time to end the fermentation, and about the exact timing of the "Nectar Noon" from last year. This timing made this tea's objective conditions extremely similar to the 2018 version of "Nectar Noon," so one can clearly observe the difference of "vintage" between these two teas.
We hope that this final version of the Gaofeng organic series will remind tea lovers of the joyful moment when they first encountered high elevation Taiwanese oolong tea. We are again very grateful for the support of Mr. Kuo and Mr. Chen over the past two years. This Gaofeng plantation will always have a special place in our hearts.

This is a great oolong for people who love the classic gaoshancha character of Taiwan but don't want strong fertilizer taste. This has the floral nectars and fresh grassy flavors people gravitate towards. It's a treat for me too, because it's a cleaner and fresh version of teas I liked to drink over ten years ago. Enjoy!
"Nectar Dawn" is the final tea from this Gaofeng plantation, and an old dog is a little bit sad to say goodbye to it. Due to new production plan, we will be focusing on other plantation in the future. If you really enjoyed Gaofeng since 2018, we hope so far we have not disappointed you any season. This final Gaofeng is really similar to the winter of 2018, however has nuance differences due to vintage. An old dog consider this tea more as a educational material rather than a simple enjoyment, because it is extremely rare to have an opportunity to learn the aspect of "vintage" of Taiwanese tea, and an old dog is glad the team of Taiwan Sourcing is able to deliver this opportunity.
