We are super confident with Mr. Chen of Ruifeng's Jin Xuan quality but was unable to collaborate with him this spring due to schedule arrangement. This winter was another chance so far to work with Mr. Chen, and we decided to do something a little bit different from our usual approach.

Meishan tea area, commonly known as Alishan area by the consumer market, was actually some of the very first place to start the "high-mountain-jade-oolong-trend" back in the early 1980s. The currently common used electric withering tray was also invented by the tea farmer in this area, so saying Meishan area tea is the origin of modern jade oolong is not far from the truth.

Bearing that in mind, this season's Jin Xuan we decided to go for a more "authentic" approach by creating a very "jade oolong" like tea with our traditional processing technique. This is still not a jade oolong, but some may feel it like a jade oolong due to our super light fermenting approach. As a result, if you want to give traditional processing tea a try but cannot let go the high aroma of modern jade oolong, this "Lily Jade" will be your best companion on the path of tea exploration.

A beautiful rich and creamy jinxuan from our old dog. Clean and deliciously soft sweet scent turns true at first sip. I love this kind of tea in the afternoon. Uplifting and strong enough but still very comfortable and satisfying. What a joy!

Although an old dog prefers a more "matured" taste from a tea as age goes by, this "Lily Jade" was not created out of meaningless curiosity or pure pursuit of creating an unconventional teas. Instead, we created this tea to explore the possibility of traditional processing and observe what result it could be. To be honest, an old dog was a little bit worried at the beginning since this was the first time doing this, but the result turned out beautifully.
